In 2004 Green Bay Preble High School faculty member Nick Nevascil and a small group of students and staff started a group to raise cancer awareness and help families affected by cancer. Since then the group has grown much larger. Today the group is over 200 students growing!

In 2006, Wisconsin Public Television came to Preble High School to interview STINGCANCER. The segment was aired several months later on Democracy It Is.
